At the outset, we are proud of our security forces (Army,Air,Naval) because of whose dedication and sacrifice we are sitting at home, enjoying our coffee/tea, and expressing freely our thoughts today. Let us thank them wholeheartedly and pray for them.
The Proudest way to celebrate Independence Day is to do something justifiable and concrete for our country and not only just singing National anthem once a year.
Flag Hoisting is the most wonderful and proud event for all of us, and everyone should salute the Tiranga with pride and Ananda.
We have to portray the true and good spirit of being a ‘Proud Indian‘ differently:
When we read news of rape, instead of crying India is unsafe, besides severely punishing the culprits, let us also train our society and children to respect women. (as Rapist comes from this society only!). Women empowerment and gender equality will swiftly elevate the Nation.
When we see garbage on the road, instead of shouting it’s a dirty nation, let us decide and never throw garbage anywhere. Let us continue to educate our society to practice cleanliness and follow a disciplined lifestyle, through our own demonstrations.
When we have some official task to complete, instead of bribing an officer to save some time or for convenience, let us restrain and try not to add on corruption. Rules can’t eradicate corruption as every rule has its own limitation or loophole, only collective thinking and acting can!
When we feel very much proud of successful Indians such as Shri. Sundar Pichai (CEO of Google), we should think why no companies or brands like Google,Yahoo,WhatsApp or FB, originated from India? Always Good comes when an opportunity is there and Best creates more opportunity! Let us educate and motivate our younger generation to excel with perseverance in big time entrepreneurship and high risk managements.
Instead of crying about reservations or only merit based allocations, let us work towards educating and settling poor and economically backward sections consciously to make our country a rich one eradicating poverty / penury
India is not a country just run by some ministers or any group of politicians, or by bureaucrats or by officers. India is a country with population of over 1.3 billion people and their collective mindset is ruling India.
If every Indian changes his/her mindset, If every Indian starts putting India over their religion, region, society, race, caste, language, family, India will be the world’s best country /place to live.
We know change is not that easy, but definitely it is not impossible.
Let us join hands and creat a major circle of change in the society. Let us all tirelessly think, plan and work towards creating a strong, united, rich, loving, caring, humanistic mother INDIA!
Our forefathers and ancestors have sacrificed a lot to make this nation Independent, but we are yet to live upto their expectations. It is time to ponder and correct many things for overall good.
When a woman does something wrong, men generally think that all women are same;When a man does something wrong,the women may think that all men are same. When a North Indian does something wrong,the South Indians comfortably think that all North Indians are same;When a South Indian does something wrong,The North Indians also think that all South Indians are same. When a Muslim does something wrong,the Hindus mostly think that all Muslims are same; When a Hindu does something wrong, the Muslims mostly think that all Hindus are same. When a Rich person does something wrong, the Poor mostly think that all Rich are same;When a Poor person does something wrong,the Rich mostly think that all Poor are same. But when a finger is pointed against our own Community,Caste,Religion,Gender etc We say,”One or some individuals do not represent the entire group”. Now where does this logic go when the finger is pointed towards other groups ? Generalising and then showing resentment through our behaviour with those groups put us in a loop of blaming the other and it never ends. Let us mindfully come out of these discriminating loops and let us truly celebrate our Independence Day with feelings of unity for all our brothers and sisters of this great Nation. We must discharge our duties and responsibilities with seriousness and sincerity. We must also spread the spirit of love, tolerance, compassion, togetherness to all our countrymen and eradicate hatred in any form.

In Ramayana, Shri Ram says, to his brother Lakshmana,
“Api Swarnamayi Lankaa na me Lakshmana rochate
Janani janmo-bhoomi-scha swargadapi gariyasi.”
—“Lakshmana, even this golden Lanka does not appeal to me; mother and motherland are greater than heaven.”
