Eternal Hanumanji

Hari Om

Hanuman, Invincible and Immortal

It is well known that Hanuman was the son of Vayu (god of the wind) and Anjana (celestial nymph). Even when he was a little child, Hanuman had great super powers. One such day, when he saw the sun rising, he assumed it was a lustrous yellow ball. He instantly decided procure it so he could play with it.

At that time, Indra, the king of gods, saw the child(Hanuman) leap into the sky and wanted to protect and stop him. He immediately used his weapon, a Vajra (thunderbolt) at Hanuman which left him hurt and wounded.

Hanuman’s enraged father decided to punish the person who hurt his son and went on a strike which meant no wind anywhere. The necessary gentlebreeze when the sun blazes down or the energy required to move the rain-bearing clouds all became absent. After a while humans and animals couldn’t sustain life making it impossible. In order to appease Vayu, all the lords granted a variety of boons to baby Hanuman.

Indra’s boon, Vajra would no longer hurt the child and Hanuman would be tougher than the weapon. Agni, the god of fire, granted him with protection to fire. Varuna, offered him protection from water. Surya, the sun god, gave him the immunity to transform the size of his body. Yama blessed him with wholesome health and immortality.

Vishwakarma, the heavenly architect, offered a boon that he would be protected from all objects of his creation.

It is believed throughout our scriptures that the soul never really dies and keeps reincarnating from one form to another.
