Why Lord Hanumanji is seen most often in red?

Hari Om

Hanumanji is excited always to serve his Master Lord Sri Rama.

One day when Sita Matha was entering into Sri Rama’s bedroom, Hanumanji went behind her to see Lord Ram.

Then Lord Rama told Hanumanji that he cannot enter into his room.

Hanumanji questioned that while Sita Matha can enter into the room, why can’t he enter the room.

He asked this question due to his innocence and attitude of full time devotional service towards Lord Rama. Just to answer Hanumanji, Sri Rama said that Sita could enter his room because she is having a sindhur on her forehead.

Hanumanji, after hearing this answer came out and pondered for a while. Then Hanumanji got convinced that sindhur is the qualification required to enter into Lord Rama’s bedroom.

So he wanted to ask more details about this sindhur to Sita Mathaji. Next day when Sita Mathaji was in the dressing table, she was trying to keep sindhur, there entered Hanumanji quickly to know more about sundhur.

Sita Mathaji treated Hanumanji as her own son because Sita and Rama were without children for a long time.

Then Hanumanji asked mother Sita about the purpose, effect and value of sindhur. She understood what he expected and smiled.

Sita Mathaji said that she learnt from learned scholars that if she keeps sindhur on her forehead it will elongate the life span of his master (Ram). Sita mathaji purposely did not mention her husband but she said Hanumanji’s master. She is very much aware of Hanumanji’s pure love towards Rama.

Hanumanji, having understood the secret of this sindhur, immediately went to the market in search of sindhur and found a shop selling sindhur. He ran there and asked for it. The shopkeeper gave him little sindhur in a small box. Hanumanji said that it was not enough. He just went into the shop, opened all the sacks of sindhur in the shop and applied by pouring all over his body. He also poured some sindhur on the street and path way and rolled over to cover his entire body, from head to toe with sindhur.

Then he came to the palace.

Rama saw Hanumanji and enquired what happened. On seeing Hanumanji covered entirely with sindhur Sita mathaji started laughing loudly. She understood and told Rama that the previous day she told Hanumanji that the sindhur will increase the lifespan of his master.

Hanumanji felt that if a small amount of sindhur on Sita matha’s forehead can increase the lifespan of Sri Rama, then how much it will enhance if he applies the sindhur all over his body. He was so confident that Rama can live eternally because of this sindhur applied throughout his body. Such is the pure selfless love Hanumanji had for Rama.

Moral derived from this story:

Hanumanji knows his master Sri Rama is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. But still due to his unlimited and unconditional love towards Rama, he believed that the sindhur applied throughout his body only will increase Rama’s longevity.

This is exactly most of us oftentimes behave like this. One day if we are late in offering food (Bhog) to Lord, we feel that the Lord is hungry, so we must prepare the food quickly.

But Lord is beyond all these things. Due to our love towards God, we feel like that. It means we are building a very nice relationship with the Lord.

Even Devaki, mother of Krishna says in Srimad Bhagavatham -10.3.29:

janma te mayy asau paapo / maa vidyaan madhusudana

samudvije bhavad-dhetoh / kamsaad aham adhira-dhih

“O Madhusudhana, because of your physical appearance, I am becoming more and more anxious in fear of Kamsa. Therefore, please ensure that sinful Kamsa to be unable to understand that you have taken birth from my womb.”

Devaki was so frightened and afraid of Kamsa that she could not believe that Kamsa would be incapable to kill Krishna, the Lord Vishnu, who was physically present with her.”

Devaki had pure love for Krishna that is why she was not unable to understand or remember the fact that nobody can kill Lord Krishna.

Hanumanji always introduces himself as the servant of Lord Rama.

As Hanumanji was completely devoid of Ego consciousness, He never introduced himself as ” I am Hanuman, I am so powerful or invincible etc”. He portrays himself always as an humble servant of Lord Rama.

People worship God for different reasons. Some devotees worship the Lord due to fear that nothing ominous happens. Some worship GOD for the fulfillment of desires because they have a longing for material accomplishments, wealth, son, daughter, grandson, and grandeur. But GOD looks forward to those devotees who worship Him due to selfless devotion.

We should always remember our eternal position as a servant of the Lord. We must completely surrender to Lord and become His servant.

By this way we will feel the presence of Lord in every moment and will cherish his Blessings eternally.

GF’ Blessings…..🙏😊✋️
